What?
Euro Quest is a unique blend of tournaments and open gaming. Download the flyer.

Why?
Euro Quest will provide a competitive forum for the play of popular "European" style boardgames in a focused, in-depth format not available elsewhere. All tournaments will be run to provide multiple opportunities to compete in the same game with a minimum of three preliminary heats preceding the elimination rounds.

Tournaments
Up to 12 different main event tournaments will run from noon Thurs., Nov. 3, through 3 pm on Sun., Nov. 6. Games expected included for 2011 are Alhambra, Automobile, Can't Stop, Carcassone, Endeavor, Lost Cities, Race for the Galaxy, Roll through the Ages, 7 Wonders and Vegas Showdown, plus four new titles (Egizia, Merchants and Marauders, Navegador and Troyes), and a Hot New Game to be named by Oct. 30, 2011.

Wild Card Event: Up to 15 different titles in a unique, free-form format. Games expected to be included for 2011 (subject to change based on GM commitment and/or promotion to the main event list) are Alhambra, Automobile, Can't Stop, Carcassone, Endeavor, Lost Cities, Race for the Galaxy, Roll through the Ages, 7 Wonders and Vegas Showdown, along with several other titles, including a Hot New Game to be named by Oct. 30, 2011.

BPA plaques will be awarded for each event - providing plenty of laurel opportunities for those who want to improve their standings in BPA's annual Caesar competition.

Open Gaming
Dedicated open gaming space will be provided in the main gaming hall during the entire duration of the convention, featuring the Euro Quest Game Library.

There will be plenty of space available for open gaming during the entire duration of the convention from 11 AM on Thurs., Nov. 3, through 8 pm on Sun., Nov. 6.

Essen Gaming
There will be a variety of activities at this year's EuroQuest outside of the regular tournament fare. These include demos of new games from Essen, the United States and around the world, game designers, yet-to-be released prototype games and prize drawings. Many of these specific games and activities will be not be announced until shortly before the convention itself. They are included on a new page, entitled "EuroQuest Presents."

     
Where?
Euro Quest 2011 takes place at to the Hilton Pikesville, 1726 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD. 21208. Phone: 800-283-0333 or 410-653-1100. It is off I-695 Exit 20, Reisterstown Rd. Route 140 East. See map and directions for location details. Accessible to Baltimore Metro Subway, Old Court Station. Hotel shuttle to subway station available. A special rate of $109 per night has been obtained for Euro Quest Attendees. Rates are $119 for triple occupancy and $129 for quad. Please mention "Euro Quest" to obtain the special rate and to add to our group's room count. Room options include one king or two double beds. Non Group room rates are $149.00 or more plus tax. Room reservations must be received by Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 to be guaranteed the special group rates. After this time, our room block will be released to the general public or sold out.

NEW FOR 2011: Please be advised that all guest room reservations under this year's room block are subject to a 72-hour cancellation notice requirement; i.e., individual reservations must be canceled prior to 72 hours before anticipated arrival date to avoid one nights and tax penalty. All credit card reservations will be charged one night's room rate at the time of reservation. A $100 security deposit will be required of all cash paying guests upon arrival.

Please exercise restraint in reserving guestrooms only to cancel them later. Such practice harms our ability to continue to host Euro Quest at this facility. We ask that you do not reserve a guestroom until you are reasonably sure you will be able to keep that reservation. And if the need to cancel does arise, please cancel as soon as possible - preferably before October 20. If the Hilton is sold out when you attempt to make your reservation, please call back on Oct. 20 before booking elsewhere to check for any cancellations.

If calling after October 20th and there are no rooms available at the Hilton at either the group rate or the regular rate, please consider the following alternate hotels.

     
When?
Open Gaming starts at 11 AM on Thurs., Nov. 3 and runs through 8 pm on Sun., Nov. 6, 2011. Tournaments run from 12 noon on Thurs., Nov. 3 through 3 pm on Sun., Nov. 6.

Concessions
Free food and beverages (beyond water stations) will not be provided by GCOM. The Hilton will be offering food and beverage concession service during convention hours. The hotel also provides food and beverages at a restaurant and bar area in the hotel, in addition to a snack bar area in the hotel lobby area. Additionally, there are several low-cost food options available within ten minutes of the convention location.

Pre-Registration
Pre-registration deadline: Thursday, October 20, 2011.
All four days: $40. Any one day: $15.
Kids twelve and under: Free registration for open gaming only with a paying adult.
