Each year, we take a fairly informal poll of various people and organizations to see what game, published in the last year, could be considered the hottest new euro-game. It was announced at the BPA's WBC 2007 event (during the Sunday "After Action" meeting).

This year's Hottest New Game for EuroQuest is Imperial.

Schedule
Please see the schedule here.

Number of players per game
4 (preferred), but we will have 5-player games and perhaps some 3-player games, as needed. There will be NO 2-player or 6-player games.

Variants
The standard rules with the Investor card will be used. Players have the option of using the beginner setup in preliminary rounds, but the default if players cannot agree will be the expert setup where each player is offered an opportunity to purchase a bond from each country. The expert start will be used in all elimination round (semifinal and final) games.

Elimination Rounds
If there are four or fewer two-game winners, the E1 round will consist of a four-player final with the final table filled with alternates based on the standard advancement criteria. With five two-game winners, we have a five-player final. With more than five two-game winners, the E1 round becomes a semifinal with the minimum number of games with tables filled with alternates so that there are the same number of players in each game. Winners and closest second place finishers will then advance to a four player final.

Tiebreakers
All standard rules tiebreakers will apply in all games, making a tie highly unlikely. In the event we need any additional tiebreakers, the first tiebreaker will be head-to-head competition in prior games followed by a coin flip.

Time Limit/Adjudication
Games should be completed within the 2 1/2 hour time limit. Games that are running long will be adjudicated -- with the standard adjudication being scoring as if the game had ended after the Russian government's final turn (to assure each nation has an equal number of turns).
