Number of Players
All games will be 4 player games when possible, with 5 player games used as needed.

Tournament Rules
We will be using each deck, E deck in Heat 1, I deck in Heat 2, and K deck in Heat 3. K deck will also be used for the Semi Finals and Finals. There will also be a "draft" of Occupation cards and Minor Improvement cards. The Occupation cards will be first. You cannot look at the Minor Improvements until the Occupation cards are drafted.

The card-drafting mechanism will work as follows. Deal all players 7 Occupations. Every player will keep 1 Occupation card and pass 6 cards to the player on your left. Then keep 1 card and pass 5 cards and so on, until everyone has 7 cards again. Then repeat the process with the Minor Improvements Card.

The following cards are banned from the tournament, remove them before drafting:

  • Ratcatcher (E Deck, Occupation)
  • Wooden Hut Extension (E Deck, Minor Improvement)
  • Chamberlain (I Deck, Occupation)
  • Taster (I Deck, Occupation)
  • Lover (K Deck, Occupation)
  • Wetnurse (K Deck, Occupation)
  • Reedhut (K Deck, Minor Improvement)

Tie Breakers
In the event of a tie for a position in an individual game, the following tie breakers shall be applied (in order, until the tie is broken):
1) most points from improvements
2) most bonus points from cards
3) most unused resources
4) most animals at the end of the game
5) die roll

Elimination Rounds
If there are five or fewer 2-game winners and less than 8 unique winners with 35 or fewer entrants, then those players will advance to a four or five player final. (Five advancing if there are exactly five two-game winners). Remaining spots in the 4-player final will be filled by players with one win and the best second result in the heats.

Otherwise:

With 12 or fewer unique winners, there will be three 4-player games in the semi-finals. The three winners and the closest second place (in terms of percentage of winner's score) will advance to a four-player final.

With more than 12 unique winners, the top 16 players will play 4 four-player games in the semis, winners advancing to a four-player final.

Time Limit
Rounds will be scheduled for 3 hours, including the draft. Time limits will be strictly enforced. Warnings will be given at 2 1/2 hours and 2 3/4 hours.
